Hstar Wins $1.5 Million in SBIR Grants for Mobile Robotic Assistant

Cambridge, MA (September 15, 2011) - Hstar Technologies Corporation announced that it has won major new grant support for its robotic system development program.

The company has been awarded two grants totaling $1.5 million to support its ongoing development of its Robotic Nursing Assistant (RoNA) system, and its military first responder counterpart, cRoNA.

The SBIR Phase II and Phase II Enhancement grants were awarded by the Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC), US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, following an intensive and highly competitive selection process. A $500,000 grant extends the RoNA Phase II SBIR program in order to accelerate commercialization of Hstar’s robotic system in the hospital environment. The second grant of $1 million over two years will support continued research into the adaptation of RoNA technology for autonomous rescue operations in the field of battle. These grants extend Hstar’s total grant support to over $5 million since the company’s founding in 2007.
